Leavenworth is in the heart of temperance country that even felt the wrath of Carrie Nation, a temperance advocate. Nation was a radical member of the temperance movement, which opposed alcohol in pre-Prohibition America. She is particularly noteworthy for promoting her viewpoint through vandalism. Nation frequently attacked the property of alcohol-serving establishments (most often taverns)
The original building is where the Great Western Manufacturing company built flour mills and stoves in the 1870's. The building was refurbished maintaining it's historical elements. Known as High Noon Saloon, a brewery, restaurant and bar. They also have live music from time to time. Don't ya know...Carrie would LOVE IT.
