Description
Grinter Farms plants a field of sunflowers that draws crowds from all around the world. This variety is grown for bird seed.
During growth, sunflowers tilt during the day to face the sun, but stop once they begin blooming. This tracking of the sun in young sunflower heads is called heliotropism. By the time they are mature, sunflowers generally face east.

Beautiful Chris, Congratulations on your Artist of the Week Feature in Visions Of Spring - Glances Of Summer!...L

A big thank you to everyone, I'm honored to to have been chosen for a special feature. This image is very sentimental to me. It was taken during the loss of my mother in law. I shot them even though I was so sad. She saw all the images before she passed and they made her smile.

Thank you everyone for all your comments, l/f's. It's almost time to go back to the field, we've had a very wet summer, so they are late bloomers this year.
