Description
A single hollyhock bud has been frostbitten in October but is still bright against an aqua vase with a black floral design and crackle finish.
Alcea, commonly known as hollyhocks, is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family Malvaceae. Most species are native to southwest and central Asia, although a few are native to southeast Europe or Egypt. They are biennial or short-lived perennial plants growing almost 12 foot tall, with broad, rounded, palmately lobed leaves and numerous flowers mostly in pink, yellow and white.
