Landscapes, food and still lifes that reflect life in Leavenworth County, a rural farm communitty in Kansas known for it's prison system and the military base. Growing up, I earned spending money working for a neighbor who had an extensive fruit/vegetable garden. Many summers were spent picking these various foods, including digging potatoes. He sold off the extra out of his garage...melons, onions, berries, corn...you name it, he grew it. His wife had a huge cutting garden and she too, sold what she grew. Hard to imagine what I'd be like without those experiences. They taught me so much, including how to string a fishing line.
